About This Site

In 2010, I read the story of Barbara Newhall Follett written by Paul Collins for Lapham's Quarterly, and found myself fascinated by her story. I really wanted to find a copy of The House Without Windows, but as many people find out, it's very hard to come by. But through patience and eBay, I managed to get my hands on a relatively reasonably priced copy.

It was such an odd, strange book, and it really spoke to me in a way I can't explain. The fact that it was written by such a brilliant little girl who had such a tragic life only made the whole thing more fascinating. I searched around the web looking for more people who had read the book, curious to see if they had the same reaction as me. There were some out there, but more than that, there were a lot of people who wanted to read it. And there were many people who had had read it, remembered it, but didn't have it anymore.

Barbara had written this great work, yet it was part of her tragedy that the book gathered dust in various collections and wasn't published anymore.

So I decided to do something about it.
