About Me: I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Saint Louis University. My area of research specialization is in medieval philosophy, but I have general research and teaching interests in metaphysics, mind, and philosophy of religion. My research focuses on later-medieval discussions of topics in metaphysics and the philosophy of mind, often with special interest in William Ockham's contribution to these topics. These days, I'm working on issues in the following three areas: (1) medieval theories of consciousness and self-knowledge, (2) questions surrounding Ockham's metaphysical (and meta-metaphysical) commitments, and (3) exploration of issues at the intersection of Ockham's views in philosophy of mind and metaphysics.
