about

dear viewer,

thanks for coming over to this page. I have discovered it off late that writing about yourself is the most difficult task. You want to write about things which the reader would be happy to know about. In other words, you would like to hide few things about you which you don't want the reader to know. How to select those? However, keeping all these complexities of thoughts I think over the last two hundred years of modernity, we in India have also learnt about speaking few things which one can talk objectively. So there I am with those objective information about me.

firstly, I am a student of International Relations, Comparative Public Policy and Governance. Presetnly I am teaching these subjects at the Centre for Political Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. I have been working on the governance issues in India, democratization in the post-Soviet states and theories of International Politics. I have also been working with various civil society organizations in the Bundelkhand region of Central India.

I was born and brought up in a smaller border town of northern Rajasthan, Mandi Goluwala (formerly in Sri Ganganagar district and now in Hanumangarh). Though small, but both towns matter a lot for India. Sri Ganganagar is the birth place of the Ghazal Maestro Jagjit Singh and also of the famous lovers Laila and Majnu. The historical town of Kalibangan is located in Hanumangarh district.

After completing my schooling from the Bhopalwala Arya Senior Higher Secondary School (also known as DAV School) and graduation from S.G.N. Khalsa College, Sri Ganganagar, I came to Delhi. Delhi was a fear for me. A small town boy came to the capital with many questions and his desire to find the answers. I still remember my first evening at the Old Delhi or Delhi railway station, when I decided that I will not go back.

I successfully (but with lot of difficulties) completed my Masters' from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Being a student of Hindi language ( a verni, as some of my class mates used to address us) Later I completed Masters of Philosophy and doctorate from the Center for Russian and Central Asian studies, JNU. I wrote my Ph.D. dissertation on the nature of Russian state after the collapse of the former Soviet Union under the supervision of Dr Sanjay Pandey. Apart from being a very good teacher Dr Pandey has been a very close friend.

I will be glad if you spare some time and flick through other pages especially the page on the blog. Those who are working with me on research can look at the Page my research. And I will be more than happy to see a comment by you. Let me feel that we interacted instead of my speaking about myself for two minutes and then you clicking off the page. thanks again and see you soon.
