About

Stony Brook University's Undergraduate Astronomy Club is a group of undergraduate students who are dedicated to increasing their understanding of the universe in which we live. We are especially interested in educating the public on astronomy, physics, and science in general. Our active body varies between 40 and 60 members, including our executive board. Each semester, we take off-campus trips, hold outreach events, and observe with our .35 m telescope if the weather permits. You can check out some of our recent activities here.

Interested in the club? Our Fall 2022 meetings will be Thursdays at 8:00pm in ESS 001/450. The meeting place will be sent out in the weekly email/discord announcement. You do not need any prior knowledge in astronomy or physics to attend the meetings; all you need is an interest in space!

  • Club President: Tobias Weiss

  • Club Vice President: Melinda Mercedes
