Director of Bands - Joe Schreimann

Joe Schreimann is the Director of Bands at Lafayette High School as well as the band teacher at Pershing Elementary School. He also teaches at Robidoux working w/ the 6th, 7th, & 8th grade bands. He is will begin his 12th year of teaching and has been in the St Joseph School District for 8 years.

Mr. Schreimann is a native of Lee's Summit, MO and attended Lee's Summit High School. Upon graduation, he attended the University of Missouri and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. While attending Mizzou, Mr. Schreimann served as a Drum Major of Marching Mizzou for two years under the direction of Dr. Michael Knight.

Mr. Schreimann finished his Master of Music Education degree from Central Methodist University at the end of the 2017-2018 school year and is a member of the Missouri Music Educator's Association, Missouri Bandmaster's Association, the National Association for Music Education, National Education Association.

Assistant Director - Mark Knorr

Mr. Knorr is the Assistant Director of Bands at Lafayette High School and the Director of Bands at Rubidoux Middle School. This year marks his 13th year teaching in Missouri with 2021 being his first full time year in the St Joseph School District.

A Savannah native, he then attended and graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in music education from the University of Missouri in 2006 and went on to earn his Master of Education from William Woods University in 2009. He has spent 11 years teaching K-12 music in Princeton, MO fielding highly competitive bands each year. While at Princeton Mr. Knorr's duties mostly included 5-12 instrumental and vocal music as well as K- 6 general music. The last two years Mr. Knorr has been teaching K-8 music at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School in St. Joseph as well as being the full time percussion instructor for the LHS Irish Pride Band.

When not in the music classroom or on the marching band field Mr. Knorr enjoys being in the great outdoors.


Color Guard Instructor - Hayleigh Albers

Hayleigh Albers grew up in Dearborn, Missouri and went to North Platte High School where she was a part of the color guard all four years. Miss Albers then took to Missouri Western to become a Music Teacher. Here is where she had another 5 years of Color Guard, 3 of those years being captain. During college, Miss Albers served as Color Guard Coach at North Platte High School for 5 years. Miss Albers graduated with her Bachelor’s in Music Education in the Fall of 2015 and began teaching at Parkway Elementary Fall 2016.

Ms. Albers is currently the Music Teacher at North Andrew and is currently in her 6th year of teaching. This will be her 5th year as the Color Guard Instructor at Lafayette High School and has been coaching guard for the last 9 years. Color Guard has been a part of her life for 14 years.

Ms. Albers is super excited to be a part of the Lafayette Family and to work with such amazing kids!
