| About Us We are the local Ukrainian Greek Catholic Parish for the city of Lethbridge & area. Our mission is to preach, celebrate and live out the Gospel values, that were
taught by our Lord Jesus Christ, for the sake of the building up of the Kingdom
and for the salvation of all people. Our Christian heritage comes from the Christian East. Our Church is part of the Catholic
Church Communion which is made up of 23 Particular Churches. Each of the
Catholic Churches, even though it may practice a different rite share a common ancient
Christian faith, live a Christian sacramental life, and are united with the Pope of Rome. Each rite within the Catholic Church has its own distinct Liturgy, Spirituality,
Theology, Canon Law, Sacred Art & Music. It is important to note that each rite
expresses, and celebrates, the Christian faith differently, but all agree
on the fundamental Christian doctrines of faith. Diversity in Unity. Our parish follows the Byzantine Rite, this rite has its
origin from the apostolic church in Greece and Asia Minor, which has been
gifted to the people of Ruthenia/Ukraine (ancient Kyivan-Rus) and now has been brought from Europe to be
shared with the people of Canada. As Catholics we proudly maintain our orthodox
liturgical, spiritual and sacramental way of life, and we invite all people who
wish to deepen their faith and participate in Eastern-Christian worship to join
us. Ss Peter & Paul Parish in Lethbridge, Alberta, was established in 1920. Ss Peter & Paul Parish is a parish within the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton. Bishop David Motiuk is our eparch. For further information about the Edmonton Eparchy please visit their website:
Please feel free to explore our community website, learn about our Catholic faith and spirituality, and see what our parish has to offer. Then after you explore our community on-line, we invite you to come and see for yourself.
We know that we are far from perfect, but we are quite friendly (if we do say so ourselves), and we are committed to helping one another grow closer to God. We welcome you to join us on our spiritual journey into Christ. |
