Call with Bruce Wilkoff regarding the way forward and a review of the Specs. We also had a great discussion about the suite of tools that SpeedGeek Learning can provide under SpeedGeek "ToolName"
SpeedGeek Learning Conversation with Jenna Thompson about doing some more work on the "buttons" in SGL, doing an SGL ad, and working on document templates.
A great brainstorm from my typewriter on User Stories, Why people would contribute to SpeedGeek Learning, and what I want out of video and presentation interaction.
Brainstorm about User Stories and Creating the Product backlog. Educational and Unconference User stories are explored throughout the brainstorm and some very good unconference ideas come out.
A good brainstorming session that explores the idea of using SpeedGeek Learning as a platform for R&D. It also brought up the idea of sorting through sessions by date, author, and tag. A design idea was floated for signifying a particular sorting group with a band of color over the videos in question.
A brainstorm about how my understanding of SpeedGeek Learning has evolved to include a platform for disruptive innovation rather than a layer to build on top of YouTube with collaborative features.
A good brainstorm after meeting with Tim Coen. The first time that I figured out that each session should start with a question. Also a good exploration into how sessions should be able to interact with one another.
First discussions of a pilot, first discussions of expandable features with buttons, and first discussions of technologies and people being used to gather information about who wants to use SGL.
This is the preliminary ideas for the ISTE presentation proposal I submitted for SpeedGeek Learning. It contains some very strong language to describe the need for SpeedGeek Learning.
This is the initial discussion with Tom Metz about how the prototype for SpeedGeek Learning will be developed. It will be done in Drupal with the ability to create an infinite number of sessions. We will not be doing the front page as a part of the prototype, only the session page.
SpeedGeek Learning Conversation about the roadblocks Tom has run into in the initial research. So, far the two biggest ones are the lag on the carousel with youtube embeds and the chat room needing to be different for each sppedgeek session. Two solutions: Make every embed an image until it gets to the front of the carousel and use the PHP chat but only do 1-10 different chat rooms for initial prototype. Prototype will be ready to go live by November 1.
