Hi All

After a long walk to the NW slope on west Lomond we were rewarded with good wind, about 12ms and sunshine. We set up the course square to the wind as opposed to square to the slope which meant it took most of us a few rounds to get used to, not Ewan and Mark though who got to grips with it quickly and were tight on base B.

After 6 rounds Mark and Ewan had opened up a gap of more than 500pts so we had a lunch break to try and break the cycle of their dominance! It appeared to work and with a model swap for me to the FS3 and some better air I started pulling back some points. Mike also clawed his way back a bit with a few sub-40’s after the break.

George & Dave didn’t get the best of the air but managed a couple of sub-40’s in the second half. I had intended to get 16 rounds in but light hail came in just after round 14 and we stopped to let it pass through, the weather deteriorated from there for the next hour or so and that was the end.

Well done to Mark treble for hanging in there for a good win, I just managed to pip Ewan into 3rd , spreadsheet attached for info.

1 Mark Treble 12271.72 1000.00

2 Peter Gunning 12028.53 980.18

3 Ewan Maxwell 11979.06 976.15

4 Mike McCracken 11528.31 939.42

5 George Young 10702.12 872.09

6 David Watson 10327.94 841.60

FTD Peter Gunning 34.21 (round 10)

You know you’ve been at a comp after a day on West Lomond but it’s a great slope and a fairly level walk. I reckon it was well worthwhile.

See you next time

Peter
