We are a model railroad club in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.   Founded in 1984 to operate an HO scale portable model railroad layout with members working on their own modules at home in their own time.   Members supply all of the  materials for their modules, and the club owns the corners and controllers. We welcome new members who wish to participate by building their own modules in HO and N scale.   We normally do not have activities for newcomers to the hobby, but many of our recent members have learned by participating in club activities.   There is a wealth of information within the club and assistance is always available.  We have members who model in other scales and gauges, and collectors of Lionel and Louis Marx equipment.

We operate one large train show each year, and often participate in other local and area shows.   We do not have any permanent model railroad set up, club facilities or meeting location.

We hold business meetings semi regularly at varying locations.  Please contact us if you have an interest in participating in club modular activities.

Most of our members are very talented in our hobby, please check out the Member Profiles and Home Layouts pages to see what we have been up to!   Please enjoy your visit.

SJSMR's 27th Annual Model Railroad Show was held on Saturday, 5 November 2011 at the Island View Lions Club building in nearby Quispamsis.   A great crowd viewed our displays, with the HO scale modules set up in the linear configuration, stretching to 90 feet.  Above modules are owned by Steve McMullin.

The SJSMR N Scale modular layout at the 2011 Fall Show was set again in a different manner, with new modules and newly scenicked and detailed sections.

Lionel Trains have always been a hit with the young and old alike, as can be seen in this shot of our O scale Lionel operating layout set up by Don McNiven, Dwayne and Murray Porter.

Plenty of choices for those wanting to start their own layout or expand on what they have, with dealers from all over the area.
