..Randomness

Imagine a sportsman, he keeps doing his best in terms of giving 100% to the game, he wins some, loses some but if he is rally motivated, committed, disciplined then he can change the odds of success in his favour.

The other way of looking at this is :

'Know what' will happen may be difficult to guess but

'Know how' to manage is a skill that is entirely within one self.

So in short this becomes a game that is played within one's mind and the opponent is one's own mind only. The market, the millions of participants, the bombardment of news and rumours are just the backdrop: the actor is you and your mind alone. So conquering the markets can not be the motive but conqurring one self is the only motive that will lead to success. After all it is true for many other human endeavors too.

Success comes when the skills are applied consistently and the results accrue much beyond the random possible returns
