Everyone's welcome at Seabold! If you'd like to sign up for our open mic, there are a few things you should know:
- Plan to arrive at the hall between 6:30 and 7pm to sign up. If you can't make it before 7, you can have a friend sign you up instead.
- There are 14 open mic slots, which are assigned by lottery. If you need to perform at a certain time of evening, sign up as usual, cross your fingers, and if someone else gets your coveted slot, see if they will be willing to trade.
- Each slot is 8 (eight) minutes long.
- There are two rooms at Seabold: the main room where the show takes place, and the kitchen, which doubles as our green room/staging area. This is where you'll tune, warm up, and deposit your instrument case.
- We don't plug anything in. That includes microphones, amps, CD players, pickups, and electric instruments of all kinds. The one exception is if you want to bring an electric piano to stand in for the sad, crippled piano that lives in the hall. We love the warm, resonant sound of the hall without amplification, and we think you will, too.
- Please, no double-dipping.
If you'd like to be considered for a featured act, contact Emily at seaboldmusic(at)gmail.com . The feature slot is half-an-hour at the end of the evening, usually about 9:30-10pm. We pay $75.
