About Us

The Woodcarving Club presently has about 75 members ranging from beginners to experienced carvers.  New members are always welcome.  We have a business meeting on the 1st Thursday of each month at 9 AM and a round table Show & Tell meeting on the 3rd Thursday of the month in our state-of-the-art full time workshop, which is open to members every day.  The shop is adjacent to the Saw Dust Engineers Shop near the SCC Atrium.  Dues are $20 a year.  We are a member of the SCC Community Association  and the National Woodcarvers Association (a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

We engage in a full range of woodcarving activities including Beginner, Bird, Animal, Chip Carving, Carving in the Round, Relief Carving (3-D), power carving and Wood Burning or Pyrography (a form of carving wood with a thermostatically controlled "hot knife").

We will provide the use of carving tools to new carvers to get them started as well as beginner classes which are held on Fridays.

We also maintain a comprehensive library of woodcarving books and magazines as well as a well categorized file of woodcarving patterns.
