Backpacking and Camping

Whether you're a seasoned backpacker, have never even tried it, or somewhere in between; we can take you out on an enjoyable overnight trip that's suited to your ability level. There are several opportunities for overnight trips in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Transportation back to your vehicle is included on one-way hikes, however prices do not include tent, backpack, or sleeping bag/pad rental. Campsites subject to availability, be sure to book early during peak times.

Castle Rock Loop

2 days/1 night, 6 mile loop (3/3), ± 675 feet, toilets and running water available at campsite.

Hike the roof of the Santa Cruz Mountains! The perfect introduction to backpacking. Later we'll go on a walk, explore some of the surrounding area, and watch the sun set from a high perch overlooking the mountains and ocean. The next day we'll complete the loop by hiking out the equally-scenic Ridge Trail, stopping to check out Goat Rock on the way back.

Price: $400 (up to 5 people)
