Remembering Our Mom

Marylou V. Guyer

August 3, 1931 - September 12, 2018

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's just hard to believe Mom isn't here with us.
In June of 2016, Mom was diagnosed with Lung Cancer along with her COPD.
She made the decision to just leave it there and take it with her!
She'd rather live life while she was able... and she DID!
Earlier in the year she was going strong - keeping up with playing cards,
mowing her yard, hanging with his friends ... just slowing down some!
She was still driving and mowing in July.
It then became difficult for her to breath and she needed oxygen.
We decided that someone always needed to be with her,
so her kids set up a rotation schedule.
We were all in town for the cousin reunion on July 21st and together
we decided it was time to get set up with hospice. So thankful we did.
She was on hospice less than 8 weeks always with one or more of her
kids staying with her. These were very good days with our dear mother.
Thankful we had them! Then on September 12, 2018 she passed
on peacefully. We love you Mom and miss you here!
A special video of our time together ....
Special times: Being with Mom during her last days, dividing up the house stuff,
getting ready for the funeral, funeral memories, being with family and friends,
time in Fremont, campfire, taking family pics, and just hanging out enjoying home and each other!
Many pics of our time together:
Remembering our Sister
Annette Guyer Johnson
May 6, 1954 - October 11, 2014
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So hard to believe Annette is no longer with us!

She died of complications from surgery - a shock to us all.

We gathered together at her home in Tennessee ...

It was healing time being together during such difficult days.

We planned the Memorial Service and all the family helped make

gifts of her final "Heart" to give to those who attended.

We handed them out at Service along with this

poem she wrote to go with it ...

True and inspiring words!

She had just complete this final "Heart" of her Heart's Project.

Link to other of her amazing Hearts!

Her Memorial Service...

Such a tribute to the amazing person she was!!!

We followed Annette's wishes to celebrate and have a party

whenever she left this earth ... so great to be with family and friends

as we celebrated my dear sister Annette's life!

We miss you so much, Annette!

You were a unique and amazing person - impossible to be replaced!

We love you and are blessed for the years we had with you!

See you in heaven!

Remembering Our Dad

Edward L. Guyer

July 6, 1930 - June 8, 2012

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the video we put together on June 10th ...
Sweet memories of our dear Dad!
It's just hard to believe Dad isn't here with us :(
Earlier this year he was going strong - Keeping up with horseshoes, golf, bowling, playing cards,
fishing, hanging with his River Rat gang, traveling ... maybe slowing down some but still going!
February, 2012, he was in and out of the hospital with congestive heart failure.
He was sent home on hospice, diagnosis: End Stage Cardiac.
Mom was amazing in her care for him, all 7 siblings made trips back to see him...
Memorial Day, 2012, he actually cooked steaks on the grill and made a trip to
Wal-Mart to buy a new flat screen TV. We all made plans to have a party
for his 82nd birthday on July 6th and celebrate Mom and Dad's 59th anniversary
on July 4th. On June 6th we got the call that it was time to come home...
the hospice nurse gave him a couple days ... we all changed our plans.
Each one of us was able to talk to him before he left this earth - so blessed!
Monday, June 11th was the showing at the Funeral Home. The "Life and Times of Edward L. Guyer" played
as hundreds of people stood in line to speak to each of us ...
we talked with friends and family for 8 hours and were all touched by each person who came.
The next day was a service at the funeral home before the funeral mass and burial at the cemetery.
This video is from the service at the cemetery - very moving!
A wonderful slideshow that Tom put together of our gathering for these few days...
Special times: Seeing the house dad grew up in, funeral memories, being with family and cousins,
picking out our favorite from dad's hat collection, taking family pics, just hanging out enjoying home and each other!
More Pics!
This is an interview Anna Moorman recorded with Grandpa, 9 years ago.
What a treasure to have! We spent time collecting pictures that help tell dad's story ...
Tom did a great job putting it all together!
Dad gave his wife and 7 kids everything he had!
He was an awesome, faithful husband and father!
He was loved by many, many people ...
We each couldn't be more blessed by the man that he was!
I am forever grateful!
I love and miss you Dad, but we'll be re-united one day soon!!!
Celebrating Mom and Dad's 55th Wedding Anniversary...
July 4th, 2008 - All 7 Guyer kids were together in Ohio!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This was printed in the Fremont News Messenger ... a surprise for Mom and Dad!!!

written by Annette and Steve

The Ballad of Ed and Marylou Guyer

(sung to the tune of the Beverly Hillbillies)

Great times with 18 of 30+ of the family together!

More photos of the fun!

Well this is the story of a man named Ed

A poor bread man barely kept his family fed

A long time ago he was on a navy ship

Just sailing round the world and acting pretty hip

The next thing you know he met Marylou

Thought she was perty hot & liked her brown hair too!

They had a lot of fun and said “what the heck?”

But Eddie wanted more than just a little neck…

Marylou wanted marriage & a shiny diamond ring

And Eddie liked the fireworks so he got da “bling bling”

The 4th of July was the day it had to be….

And they got themselves hitched back in 1953

So they had a little baby, and then they had another

And another and another and another and another

Marylou was getting tired, she was such a busy mother

But Eddie said “what the heck – Bunny, let’s have another!”

So 55 years later and they’ve never had a fight

With 7 kids raised, her brown hair has turned white

- got grandkids all over and great grand-ones on the way

They’ve done pretty good in their own simple way.

Now Eddie the Breadman is rollin’ in the dough

He’s playing lots of golf -- but he’s driving kinda slow

His ticker keeps ticking - with a little help at that

Now he likes to play cards with his gang of River Rats

You can see Marylou around in lots of red hats

She’s playing at her bridge and enjoying all her chats

She plays a little golf and some card games now & then,

The kids are all raised - can you say “Amen?”

They’ve travelled all around and have everything they need

They’ve been blessed with a lot and so we’ve all agreed

No big party or presents – not even flowers from a nursery

Just send a little card & wish’em Happy Anniversary!

55th that is… Wedded bliss…… and many more

Note: As a result ...

Mom and Dad got many, many cards and well wishes - even flowers from a nursery!
