"Garden Clubs Make Your World Better"
Terry Kroke
Rocky Mountain Region Director 2011-2013
This theme was selected to put a spotlight on the many ways that our clubs improve the lives of those around them and contribute to the well being of their communities. Each state and local garden club will build pride in what they have accomplished by their participation in ongoing national, regional, and state projects. It is hoped that they will also find new ways to improve their neighborhood and the communities around them by implementing the projects sponsored by their club, state and national presidents. The regional project, "We Make Our World a Better Place to Live", encourages clubs to look with a fresh eye at what they have been doing and find new ways to serve their neighbors and communities. One aspect of the project is for clubs to assess the impact of their current projects. Another aspect is to implement new projects that makes their neighborhood, community or world more habitable. The third aspect of the project is to publicize what they are doing to their members, other garden clubs and the public. Possible vehicles for publicity might be newsletters, websites, presentations to other organizations or public news media.
Our beautiful Region includes the States of Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming. |
