As one of the most inclusive genealogical societies in the country, DAR boasts 185,000 members in 3,000 chapters across the United States and internationally. Any woman 18 years or older - regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background - who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership.
Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a lineage society that is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) charitable organization dedicated to historic preservation, education and patriotism.Â
We welcome women who want to participate in the historical, educational, and patriotic activities of the DAR.
Membership in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a unique opportunity to establish lineage and heritage as a descendant of a patriot of the Revolutionary War. Volunteering through the DAR is an effective way to honor our patriot ancestors, recognize their roles in establishing the United States of America, and carry forth their purpose of American freedom.
