Songs

This "Songs" subsection of the "Music of YA" section of this site covers only songs (music including vocals) played in the soundtrack of Steven Antin's Young Americans (2000).  Instrumental (non-vocal) music played in the soundtrack of Young Americans (YA) is described in a separate "Instrumentals" subsection of the "Music" section.  Music mentioned or verbally alluded to but not necessarily played in Young Americans is described in a separate "Allusions" subsection.  A tracklist of all songs and of attributed instrumentals and one unattributed instrumental is given on the main page of the "Music" section.

This subsection contains a distinct page for each of the eight aired episodes of Young Americans.  The unaired pilot episode filmed in Georgia in the autumn of 1999 is not covered.  Coverage of each episode is comprehensive:  no song played in Young Americans is not listed.  The dramatic context of each song is described.  Credits and lyrics are provided insofar as possible.  Sources of information are described for original attributions, original corrections of misattributions, and original transcriptions of lyrics.  Problems of attribution, of accessing recordings or of transcribing lyrics are highlighted by dark red typeface.

The eight episode-specific subpages of this "Songs" subsection are not shown on the homepage of Rawley Revisited.  They are accessible only through the links at the bottom of this page..
