4.26.2010. Armenian Genocide Day & Anzac Day questions re Australian military complicity in genocide atrocities

On Armenian Genocide Day (24 April ) I sent to the following message to the taxpayer-funded Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) TV “Q&A” program.

Letter.

25 April is Anzac Day in Australia and New Zealand; it is a Day of Remembrance for Australia and New Zealand war dead in all wars (about 100,000 and 30,000, respectively).

However 24 April is Armenian Genocide Day that commemorates the commencement on 24 April 1915 of the 1915-1923 Armenian Genocide in which 1.5 million Armenians were murdered in Turkey.

In short, after months of Anglo-French shelling in the Dardanelles, the Allies invaded Turkey at Gallipoli, with the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) spearheading the invasion on 25 April 1915.

The day before the Allied landing, the xenophobic Turks, besieged by the Russians in the East and the Anglo-French Allies in the West, commenced the murder of Armenian intellectuals and community leaders and then proceeded with the mass murder of all Armenians they could in their domain.

Australia is intimately linked with the Armenian Genocide but has also participated in 22 genocides of which 7 are ongoing.

The following questions were submitted to ABC TV’s Q&A for the program to be broadcast on Monday 26 April 2010. (4.26.2010). However based on past performance it is unlikely that any of these Key Questions will be asked.

Accordingly these questions will be placed on the steadily enlarging website "Questions Q&A won't ask" together with detailed, documented comments and answers.(see: http://sites.google.com/site/questionsqawontask/home ).

1. A question for the panel: “Australia has been involved in all post-1950 US Asian wars, invading and devastating countries that posed no threat to Australia and becoming complicit in violent and non-violent excess deaths totalling 24 million, mostly women and children. Can you justify these past and continuing atrocities?”

2. Questions for the panel: “Australia was complicit in the World War 2 Bengali Genocide (6-7 million dead) and is currently intimately involved in the continuing Iraqi Genocide and Afghan Genocide (post-attack violent and non-violent excess deaths 4.4 million and 4.5 million, respectively). Should Australians be party to genocide as defined by the UN Genocide Convention and should those who are be prosecuted?

3. Question for the panel: “The Geneva Convention states that an Occupier must provide life-sustaining food and medical requisites to tis Subjects to “fullest extent oif the means available to it”. WHO says the “annual per capita medical expenditure in Occupied Afghanistan is $29. UNICEF says that 311,000 Afghan infants die annually. Should Australian politicians be tried for war crimes?

4. Question for the panel: “The annual death rate is 7% for infants in Australian-occupied Afghanistan as compared to 5% for French Jews in Nazi-occupied France. Should Australian politicians be tried for egregious child abuse and war crimes?”

5. Question for the panel: “We honor those who fought and died for their country. However history ignored yields history repeated. Should we also teach our children about the millions of Asian women and children who have died avoidably in Australia-complicit post-1950 US Asian wars?”

6. Question for the panel: “It has recently been revealed that Israeli terrorists have routinely violated Australian sovereignty and border protection by forging Australian passports. However Labor did nothing except to subsequently pay $349 million to put Israelis at the heart of our defence. Should Labor MPs be tried for treason?”

7. Question for the panel: “Armenian Genocide Day is 24 April. The 1915-1923 Turkish Armenian Genocide (1915-1923) commenced the day before the first Anzac Day (25 April 1915). Should Australian children be taught about Australia’s direct link to the Armenian Genocide and the Cambodian Genocide as well as to the ongoing the Iraqi Genocide and Afghan Genocide?”

8. Question for Professor Reynolds: “I have made formal complaints to the International Criminal Court about Australian involvement in the ongoing Aboriginal Genocide, Iraqi Genocide and Afghan Genocide. Since there has been no Peace Treaty, should the Indigenous Community do likewise?

9. Question for Professor Greer: “The secular Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan, RAWA, demands foreign withdrawal and end of war. Why has the Western feminist movement ignored horrendous abuse and mass murder of women and children in the Australia-backed US War on Terror?”

10. Question for Professor Greer: “The World War 2 Bengali Holocaust in British India (6-7 million killed) was associated with civilian and military sexual abuse of hundreds of thousands of starving women and girls commensurate with Japanese abuses. Why do Western feminists ignore these past and ongoing Allied abuses of Asian women and children?”

End letter.

Documented comments and answers (notinmg that none of these questions were asked although according to an e-mail from Q&A question #9 was shortlisted, indicating that Q&E is well aware of the questions it won't ask. Professors Greer and Reynolds were, as expected, very sensible, critical and civilized - the rest wallowed in politically correct, right wing sentimentality about war).

1. Australia has been variously involved in all post-1950 US Asian Wars, including (violent and non-violent excess deaths in parentheses) the Korean war (1 million), the Indo-China War (Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos excess deaths 13 million), Iraq war (4.4 million, 1990-2010), Afghan War (4.5 million; plus 0.8 million opiate drug-related deaths due to US Alliance restoration of the Taliban destroyed Afghan opium industry from 6% of world market share in 2001 to 93% now). [1-3].

Answer: No, these past and continuing atrocities cannot be justified.

2. Australian soldiers served in India, Bengal, Assam and Burma. Eminent Australian Richard Casey was Governor of Bengal in the peak famine year of 1944. An estimated 6-7 million Indians died in the Bengal Famine (Bengali Holocaust, Bengali Genocide) of whom 4 million came from Bengal proper and the remainder from the adjoining provinces of Bihar, Orissa and Assam. [4-7].

Answer: Australians should not be party to genocide and those so involved should be prosecuted as war criminals.

3. Articles 55 and 56 of the Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War state that an Occupier must provide life-sustaining food and medical requisites to its Subjects to “fullest extent of the means available to it”. [8].

WHO says the “annual per capita medical expenditure in Occupied Afghanistan is $29. [9].

UNICEF says that 311,000 Afghan infants die annually. [10].

Answer: Australian politicians should be tried for war crimes. Indeed Nobel Laureate Harld Pinter has demanded no less for Bush and Blair. [11] and John Valder, former President of the ultra-conservative Australian Liberal Party, has said that former Liberal Party Leader and PM John Howard should be tried as a “war criminal”. [12].

4. The current "annual death rate" for Occupied Afghan under-5 year old infants under the US Alliance is 7% - as compared to that of 4% (for Poles under the Nazis in WW2), 5% (French Jews under the Nazis and the Nazi-collaborator Vichy régime in WW2), 13% (Australian POWs of the Japanese in WW2) and 19% (Jews in Nazi-occupied Europe). [13, 14].

Yes, Australian politicians should be tried for egregious child abuse and war crimes.

5. History ignored yields history repeated. [2, 4].

Answer: Yes, we should certainly teach our children about the millions of Asian women and children who have died avoidably in Australia-complicit post-1950 US Asian wars. [1, 2, 4].

6. It has recently been revealed that Israeli terrorists have routinely violated Australian sovereignty and border protection by forging Australian passports. However Labor did nothing except to subsequently pay $349 million to put Israelis at the heart of our defence. [15].

Answer: Yes, Labor MPs should be tried for treason for putting foreign, terrorist routine violators of Australian sovereignty and border security at the heart of Australian defence.

7. Armenian Genocide Day is 24 April. The 1915-1923 Turkish Armenian Genocide (1915-1923) commenced the day before the first Anzac Day (25 April 1915). [2, 16, 17].

Answer: Yes, Australian children should certainly be taught about Australia’s direct link to the Armenian Genocide and the Cambodian Genocide as well as to the ongoing the Iraqi Genocide and Afghan Genocide.

8. I have made formal complaints to the International Criminal Court about Australian involvement in the ongoing Palestinian, Iraqi, Afghan, Muslim, Aboriginal, Biofuel and Climate Genocides. [18].

Since there has been no Peace Treaty with White Australia, the Indigenous Australian Community should certainly make formal complaints to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

9. The secular Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan, RAWA, demands foreign withdrawal and end of war. [20].

Why has the Western feminist movement ignored horrendous abuse and mass murder of women and children in the Australia-backed US War on Terror? Answer: this extraordinary failure is part of the worsening holocaust-complicity, genocide-complicity, holocaust-ignoring, genocide-ignoring , holocaust-denial and genocide-denial of the West.

10. The World War 2 Bengali Holocaust in British India (6-7 million killed) was associated with civilian and military sexual abuse of hundreds of thousands of starving women and girls commensurate with the WW2 Japanese “comfort women” sexual abuses of Subject Women. [4].

Why do Western feminists ignore these past and ongoing Allied abuses of Asian women and children? Answer: this extraordinary failure is part of the worsening holocaust-complicity, genocide-complicity, holocaust-ignoring, genocide-ignoring , holocaust-denial and genocide-denial of the West.
