Home Otley Community Players

Otley Community Players (OCP) have been performing in Otley, West Yorkshire, UK since 1996. The group came together following the Otley Community Play, which also generated a host of other community arts projects, including the creation of the Otley Courthouse Arts Centre.

Sadly, we can find little memorabilia from the early plays. If you have any, we'd be delighted to add it to this site.

Similarly, and even more strangely, we have few photos from our more recent productions. This is probably because we've been performing in nice indoor venues where - especially in Otley Courthouse - people may be frightened to take out their cameras...

We've got the more recent plays on DVD (and some of the older ones on video). Maybe one day we'll have the videos downloadable from this site? Although you can never capture the atmosphere of a live performance on video.

Anyway, one day someone who's been in otley community players since the beginning will write something moving and beautiful about ocp's origins. Until then, you'll have to make do with coming to see our next play!
