About Me

I am a student in the college of Education, studying Technical Education. I began my career at NCSU as a student in Computer Engineering and Computer Science. During that time, I became interested in web programming. This is my fourth year at State, and I am taking this class to try to get a more formal education in web application development.

Personal and Interests

I'm really a pretty easy person to figure out. I'm a geek, a nerd, Jewish, Vegetarian, and a Linux Evangelist. That will pretty much cover it. Everything else follows from there. I dislike companies that charge an arm and a leg for inferior products [glares at Microsoft and Bose], and I love companies that stand strong behind their ideals and a good work ethic [claps for Red Hat and Google].

Technical Background

If you haven't noticed, I have a pretty strong technical background. I've been using a computer as long as I have reasonable memories. Some people claim I was born with a computer in my hand. Personally, I am not sure about that. I don't think the womb had enough electricity to power an 8086. (Yes, the first computer I used had a 10 megabyte hard drive, and an upgraded graphics card so it could display 16 colors.) Although I have been doing PHP for a few years now, I have minimal experience with databases, MVC, OOP, and JavaScript. Hopefully, this course will help me to get better in those areas. I do, however, have a good amount of experience with CSS and computer graphics.
