.160. The Priest then takes the paten or ciborium and approaches the communicants, who usually come up in procession.

It is not permitted for the faithful to take the consecrated Bread or the sacred chalice by themselves and, still less, to hand them on from one to another among themselves. In the Dioceses of Canada, Holy Communion is to be received standing, though individual members of the faithful may choose to receive Communion while kneeling. When standing before the minister to receive Holy Communion, the faithful should make a simple bow of the head. When receiving Holy Communion on the tongue, they reverently join their hands; when receiving Holy Communion in the hand, they reverently open their hands placing one beneath the other, and they consume the host immediately upon receiving it.

As opposed to the way it is understood in the United States of America!

From a posting this morning - May 13, 2010

The outside of our lovely church will remain the same, but the interior will be transformed to accommodate my new way of doing liturgy and being relevant--private revelations are great, helping me to ascend to great creativity!!! I can't wait, view video below!.,,

I've decided to be a relevant priest after all these years, because the following video spoke to my heart, gave me a private revelation and changed my life and so beginning this Sunday, Mass will never be the same again at St. Joseph Catholic Church. It will be modeled on this video and make us into a super mega Catholic Church! We'll ascend to great heights! Life will never be the same! And you can purchase copies of my worship service videoed each week in our book store or on this blog. Tax deductible contribution of course!

“With the new Mass translations coming out this year, the “Gather” hymnal

will sadly become obsolete. With that in mind,

I composed a tribute medley to some of the best songs contained therein….

Sing a New Song, Please

"With the blessing of the Cardinal"

Bill Meyer said...

Although Latin was never outlawed, in some dioceses, it simply vanished. And today, in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, it is to be found in only one parish.

I find the wholesale switch to the vernacular to be an extreme interpretation of Sacrosanctum Concilium, one which took advantage of provisions clearly intended for mission lands.

But then, I was in high school when the council was in session. By the time I got to college, the change was complete, and guitars and English reigned.

Worst of all, the once standard celebration of the Mass is now so variable that one can hardly imagine that two adjacent parishes are part of the same church.

CONDITIONS FOR HOLDING SUNDAY CELEBRATIONS

IN THE ABSENCE OF A PRIEST

Whenever and wherever Mass cannot be celebrated on Sunday, the first thing to be ascertained

is whether the faithful can go to a church in a place nearby to participate there in

the eucharistic mystery. At the present time this solution is to be recommended and to be

retained where it is in effect
