These are all "less than
charitable" quotes directly emailed to me from supporters of
OCC. Are supernatural threats in the nature of a children's
charity?
- I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
- I know that hell is real and God is fair. There is not total
clarity in the Bible about exactly what age a child is accountable for having
accepted or rejected Jesus Christ.
- Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at
the close of the age. 41 The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his
kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers, 42 and throw them into the
fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then the righteous
will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let
him hear.”
- Any religion other than that which wholeheartedly follows Jesus
Christ is bound in eternal darkness.
- One day, you’ll have to stand to account that you spent much of
your midnight hours fighting against that.
- Hell is very real, very painful, very dark,
very lonely and a place.
- One day you will understand how the reality of hell
- If you reject him, he will
reject you....Hell is a consequence for rejecting God.
- his wrath is resting upon those who are disobedient
What do you think OCC participants are like? Are some of them like some
of their supporters? Surely similar people take part as those who send
shoeboxes and comments like those above. What pressure to convert must
there be from the kinds of people who keep telling me that people
who don't accept their version of Christianity are going to hell. What
sort of pressure do you think it
is like for a child to be threatened like this? And so it is with OCC:
' we believe in the resurrection of the lost to damnation'.
