About me

Hi and welcome to my site. My name is Reidun Cecilie Filbert and I run a small cattery in south west of Norway. I got my first Siamese cat in 1993 as a gift from my mother. And when my first siamese died in 2008 I decided it was about time I started my cattery. And I got my cattery name in 2009. My cats are indoor cats and live freely inside our house as part of our family. My cats can freely follow us through the house and also sleep in bed with us. I plan to breed healthy and happy Foreign White and Siamese cats.

Senbon Zakura is japanese and means Thousand Cherry Trees, I chose this name because I'm very fond of japanese culture and japanese cheery blossoms. Usualy Zakura is written Sakura but I chose to write it with Z, since this is the way they write it in the play "Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura

(義経千本桜)" wich is a very fameus Kabuki play. In Japan the Sakura is an omen of good fortune and is also an emblem of love, affection and represents spring. Cherry blossoms are richly symbolic, they are an enduring metaphor for the fleeting nature of life. Sakura are object of the Japanese traditional custom of Hanami or Flower viewing.
