His accounting career includes work as an accounting manager in a large mini-computer company including work on two public offerings and a major financing. He also served as vice chair of a corporate-wide product strategy committee during a period of industry upheaval when microprocessor-based open systems were displacing minicomputers from the computer world, an experience that provided dramatic insights into the "creative gales of destruction" that periodically sweep through the high technology landscape. From computers, he went on to chief financial officer at a diagnostic medical imaging company including another initial public offering--and more upheaval!

He has a BA in economics from University of California Santa Barbara and an MBA in finance from the University of Santa Clara. He has held mates and masters licenses from the U.S. Coast Guard including a 100-ton masters license. Myers served as a clerk in the operations section G-3 at Headquarters, 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam.
