Gameplay: Resources outside of the game.

Today was an amazing day of Portal play! I finally made it out of the level 15 chamber I have been stuck in for a while. I admit, however, that I didn't do it alone. I used my skills as a researcher to find out what I was doing wrong. (it wasn't that hard to find, really.) For all accounts, I was doing what seemed to be the right thing. I just couldn't do it fast enough. I have been reading in Gee that more to just learning to play the video game is learning how to use your resources. Those who play games are learning more than just how to play but also networking skills and being part of a community of like minded individuals who have either put together wikis or youtube videos on the game play. I have only just scratched the surface. I don't want to use these resources too much though because I feel like I have cheated. But I did determine that what I was doing was almost right. I just had to switch the order of things to be successful. I'll rationalize it that it wasn't too bad of a cheat..NOW I am on to a new level and I am being shot at! There are these turret/robot creatures that are looking for intruders. They are perfectly sweet about killing me. Really. Just imagine a nice granny calling out, "where are you?" "why don't you come over and see me?" ha! I won't fall for it! Now I just need to get past them. I also discovered a room with information about possibly other "people" in the game. So exciting!

Just a little help please? Doesn't look so hard but man it took forever to get out! Its all about timing!

The Turret! after I knocked it over, it said, " I don't hate you " . The problem is there are many many more! Watch out!

Now, I have also been continuing to play Hay Day. I am progressing there as well. Slowly. Much different game. I have "liked" their facebook page and get information from them about new things they are adding to the game. I have run into a frustration because I finally made it to a level where I could build my boat dock and a large boat arrives about once a day with orders but I don't have the capacity to fill the orders. Unless of course I invest money or diamonds. So, I miss the boat so to speak! This game is about patience and time. Farming is about patience and time as well I suppose.
