In 1983 the club embarked upon its first tour, when President Pete Parris led a group of bowlers and guests on a week-long visit of Cliftonville, Kent.
In accordance with the original idea, in all but one of the odd years since - the President in office has led the club on a tour somewhere within the United Kingdom.
