Hervé Tullet (2016-2017 - 2019-2020)
Hervé Tullet was born in 1958 in Normandy. After studying Fine Arts and Decorative Arts, he worked as an Art Director for ten years. In 1990 he produced his first illustrations for the press. In 1994, his first book for children was published by Seuil Jeunesse : Comment Papa a rencontré Maman.
He did not have to wait long for recognition: he received the Prize for Non-Fiction at the Bologne International Book Fair in 1998 for Faut Pas Confondre, and his books that prefer the ‘path’ to narration, soon find much acclaim. With the series of books Jeux de…(2006 onwards), with Les Cinq Sens (2003) orL’imaginier (2006), his work not only includes reading books but also touch and feel books aiming thus at children right from early childhood.
With Moi, C’est Blop, published in 2005, that marks the birth of the chameleon form so emblematic of his work, or Turlututu, in 2007, the strange eye that guides children through a game of question and answers, Hervé Tullet asserts his concept : soliciting the reader to actually integrating them in his work.

Juliette Dumas
Juliette Dumas completed her BA at Villa Arson in Nice France and MFA at School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in 2013. Juliette Dumas has been awarded artist residencies at Festival Grandeur Nature, Ristolas, France in 2009 and La Station, Nice in 2015.
She was nominated for Clare Rosen& Samuel Edes Foundation Prize for Emerging Artists by the Painting and Drawing Department of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.Dumas' work was featured in notable group and solo exhibitions including "No Safe Harbor" (2016), Art3 | Silas Shabelewska gallery,NY, “Winter Studies” (2015), Kunstverein Gaestezimmer E.V, Stuttgart,Germany (Curated by Alf Setzer); “Ad Hoc”(2015), La Station, Nice,France (curated by Collectif Culbuto).
Joséphine Ancelle (2012-Present)
Joséphine Ancelle grew up in Paris in a family of actors and musicians. She took her passion for singing to New York at the age of 18, where she developed her career by regularly performing at many of New York’s renowned venues, such as The Bitter End or The Living Room. She has been invited to play numerous times for French Institute Alliance Française’ (FIAF) events, as well as other French festivals. Between 2007 and 2011, Joséphine released one full length album, two EPs, and two singles of her Franco-American compositions, with her song Les “Je T’Aime” receiving radio airplay in France and Germany.
Shortly after joining the team of visiting artists at La Petite École in 2012, Joséphine began writing songs for the preschool, which focus on accompanying the children in their daily routine. She loves knowing that her songs are helping young children learn about the world around them!
In addition to pursuing her career in music, Joséphine completed her master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2016, having found a new passion for this field that combines science, compassion, and creativity. Mary Ellen Carol, R20 Gallery (3-day performance)
R 20th Century presents "Open Outcry Furniture," a site-specific installation curated by conceptual artist Mary Ellen Carroll (MEC, design studios) and architect Simon Dance (Simon Dance Design). One in a series of events around the concept of "Itinerant Gastronomy", it is intended to catalyze useful conversation about the intersections of food, art and life.
The Children's Furniture Edition consists of twelve rainbow-colored table and chair sets in painted MDF, in an edition of 10 in each of the twelve colors. Mary Ellen Carol is pictured at left in with the rainbow table in the Tribeca classroom.
Christine Rebet (2011-2012)
Christine Rebet was raised in Lyon, France, the hometown of the cinematic pioneers, the Lumière Brothers. After studying painting and scenography at the Art Academy in Venice, she moved to Central St. Martins, London to study theater design. Most recently, she has received her MFA from Columbia University and was featured in the MFA thesis show. With a background in stage design and choreography, Rebet has actively collaborated professionally in both fields.
Rebet’s artwork is reminiscent of the optical illusions and spiritual experiments of the late 19th century, pre-cinematic entertainment landscape. She works in a variety of media and art forms including drawing, performance art, and hand drawn animation and photography (shot on 16mm/35mm film.) Her work has been exhibited internationally, including Site Santa Fé, Shanghai Art Museum; Parasol Unit, London; Kamel Mennour Gallery, Paris; Taka Ishii, Tokyo and upcoming at Cartier Foundation, Paris
Anne-Lise Coste (2010-2011)
Artist Anne-Lise Coste is an internationally-acclaimed artist who has been featured in several solo and group exhibitions around the world, including Los Angeles, Amsterdam, New York, Zurich, Barcelona, Paris, and Warsaw. She hails from Marseille, France and studied at Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Marseille and Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in Zurich.Coste has already been established in the Swiss art scene for her drawings. They are of appealing and literary nature, even when, in some cases, they are free of text. These abstract drawings, in which the motives come to an independence of form, have something floral and decorative. They lead as visual tracks into subjective moods and inner pictures.
