Announcements
11/9/23
Our new season really is just around the corner... starting on Monday! I have just a few things to get out to you all before our first practice and then will send updates after that.
Registration:
First and foremost, all swimmers need to be registered and meet the eligibility requirements to participate. If you're unsure on any of the requirements, please reach out and I can help. Any financial question can be directed to Ken Pimental pimental_k@4j.lane.edu.
First day/week:
Practice is at Echo Hollow Pool 4:00-5:30 every day M-F next week. All swimmers are out of the water by 5:40 at the latest.
Transportation is provided from Churchill to Echo Hollow... meet on the east side of the school between the main building and the STEM building.
A request has been made for carpooling after practice. If you are interested, please fill out THIS FORM to share your phone and email with other parents. Responses to the form can be found HERE for you to make arrangements.
Swimmers need to bring a suit, towel and goggles if they have them (I have extras). Caps will be provided.
General Information:
For calendar and other information, check out the CHS Swimming Website. I'm constantly working to update and add to the website. We will add several team dinners to the calendar once we get the season going.
Volunteering:
We will need volunteers to help with team dinners and to be timers/scorers at our home meets. Timers are also appreciated at away meets if needed. It's easy to do and we will train you before the first meet. More to come as these opportunities get closer.
Absences:
All absences from practice need to be excused by a swimmer's adult at home. Excuses need to be in writing via email or text to me in order to compete in the meet at the end of each week. Attendance is an important part of participating on any team. We also understand that our swimmers are students first and then also musicians, thespians, caretakers, debaters etc. Balance is also part of high school sports. If you have questions or concerns about attendance, please reach out.
Contact:
My contact info is at the bottom of every email. The best way to get a hold of me is email or text. Phone calls are hard to respond to during the day while teaching.
There is more information to share, but this is enough to get started. If you wish to be removed from this list, please let me know. We can't wait for another great season! Welcome to Lancer Swimming!
