eShare

You can share your photos with us and we might use them in the 2021 La Cueva Petroglyph Yearbook! On top of that, 3 yearbooks will be given away to 3 students who had their photos used in the book.

at the bottom of this page, you will find the link to hjeshare below as well as the school code for the page

PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDELINES

if you follow these simple photography guidelines, you will greatly increase your chances of us using your photos. (and, who know, you might learn to take better pictures)

  • we are looking for high quality (high resolution) photos of everyday "normal" life of the typical La Cueva student making their way through the current situation.

  • Please submit photos that are both vertical (portrait) and horizontal (landscape)

  • Please submit CANDID photos for consideration

First, let's talk about what we probably won't use.

Obviously Posed (bad)

While posed pictures have their place, and some well done posed pictures can be used, for the most part, we try and only use "CANDID" photos.

A candid photo, according to Wikipedia, is "a photograph captured without creating a posed appearance. The candid nature of a photograph is unrelated to the subject's knowledge about or consent to the fact that photographs are being taken, and are unrelated to the subject's permission for further usage and distribution. The crucial factor is the actual absence of posing. However, if the subject is absolutely unaware of being photographed and does not even expect it, then such photography is secret photography, which is a special case of candid photography."

This is NOT a good picture for the yearbook.

Candid Photos (good)

the students probably know the camera/photographer is there, but they are not showing any concern.

This is a GOOD picture. We would use this one.

Selfies (bad)

At this time we are not necessarily looking for selfies. Selfies might have their place on certain pages, but generally speaking, we will not use selfies.

This is a funny picture for social media, but not yearbook.

  • if you are taking a selfie with the event behind you, and you are an integral part of the event - or happening, then maybe(?) - but probably not likely.

  • if we need a photo of you in some fashion accessory of something similar, then maybe(?)

  • we may have a section on selfies, if so, we will put out an announcement.

Underexposed (bad)

not enough light.

try this -

  • turn on the lights

  • turn on some lamps

  • open the shades

  • go outside in the daylight

  • use a flash (last resort)

Overexposed (bad)

too much light

do the opposite of Underexposed

also - try moving around where less light is hitting your lens

ABSOLUTE NO-NOs:

We follow La Cueva's and APS's policies on student behavior.

As a general rule, if you can't have it at school, don't include it in your photos.

Here is an abbreviated list of banned items in our yearbook pictures:

  • Weapons

  • Alcohol

  • Drugs

  • Tobacco/Vapes

  • Gang-related paraphernalia/clothing

  • Hand gestures

  • Anything illegal

  • Nudity/Partial Nudity - we follow the school dress code

GOOD LUCK!

once you get there, use school code 7759
