Mission Statement of KVHS

The society’s major function will be to discover and collect any material which may help to establish or

illustrate the history of our communities, to provide for the preservation of such material and for its

accessibility, as far as may be feasible to all who wish to examine or study it, and to disseminate historical

information and arouse interest in the past.

The Kishwaukee Valley Heritage Society is a not-for-profit corporation founded in February 1977.  The purpose

of the organization is to bring together those people in the Kishwaukee Valley area who have an interest in

local and regional history.

Our museum offers guests the opportunity to explore artifacts, old photographs, and a circa 1950's caboose

to view life as it was in the early days of the Kishwaukee Valley.
