Open Positions
1st-Postdoctoral Position in Non-Hermitian Photonics
Topic: Anderson localization in complex landscapes
Funding: ERC CoG 2021, “Beyond_Anderson”, starting 1st Dec.-2022 until Dec. 2027
Research description: Theoretical research related to the properties of non-Hermitian disordered lattices of topological and/or nonlinear nature. Application to novel photonic systems (optical waveguides, photonic lattices, microcavities, complex lasers). Analytical and computational models and full-wave simulations, are integral part of our research methodology. Even though the position is theoretical, there would be strong collaboration with the PI's experimental network.
Position's profile: Ph.D. in Physics (Condensed Matter or Optics-Photonics) or Electrical Engineering or related field. Experience in disordered systems (classical or quantum) and/or topological wave physics would be preferable. Good communication skills in English. Experience with computational physics (matlab/python). Exceptional academic track record and high motivation to perform research. Creative and eager to learn new topics and develop new techniques.
