Freshmen Advice

MY 1ST YEAR ADVICE

  • On move in day – meet neighbors and people on other floors right away – just introduce yourself

  • Make friends with your neighbors – they will more than likely be your best friends down the line

  • On first & second day of class – sit next to someone you might want to be friends with… seats stay consistent after the second day of class day

  • Go to involvement fair and just sign up for clubs

  • Take naps – you’ll need them

  • Change your teacher if needed – first impressions mean a lot – there are a lot of bad teachers – the teacher you have is very important for grades

  • General advisors don’t care – go straight to the head of your major OR ask an older student in your major

  • Go to office hours & ask questions

  • Get to know your professor – and more importantly make sure they know you

  • Sell & Get new books before the break OR to make even more money selling them on amazon or ebay or uloop
