- Backpacking - I currently operate a wilderness guide service for youth groups and families. I have extensive experience with wilderness navigation.
- Scuba Diving - I'm a certified scuba diver with 20 years' experience. I have explored reefs from the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, and the Virgin Islands.
- Snow Skiing - I took up snow skiing about 10 years ago. I've skiied in Vancouver, BC., Santa Fe and Taos, NM., and areas around North Carolina.
- Sign Language - I am proficient in American Sign Language. I was taught by a friend about 15 years ago. I have interpreted at church and summer camps for Deaf children and adults.
