skits

During one lesson about opportunities for witnessing, the youth wrote some skits to perform the next week. They did a great job. You are welcome to revise the skits to use in your own program.

At basketball game

[GA. bumps into CT. - CT. gets mad. GA. responds calmly. - CT. storms off - MN, comes up]

MN: How did you respond so calmly?

GA: I am a Christian

MN: What's a Christian?

GA: A follower of Jesus the Son of God

MN: Who is God?

GA: He is the creator of all things

MN: Who? Jesus?

GA: He isthe one who died on the cross for our sins

MN: What does that mean?

GA: Have you ever lied?

MN: Yes

GA: That is a sin.

MN: How do I find him?

GA: I'm going to show you.

MN: I pray

[Time change]

BF: (comes up) I saw you talking to that kid over there. What were you talking about?

MN: He was talking to me about Jesus

BF: Who is that?

MN: He said he saved us from our sins

BF: What are sins?

MN: He described to me that sins are like lying and only Jesus can save us from them.

BF: I kind of want to know more about this.

MN: He told me these lines that really made sense

[Then MN reads them off]

"All have Sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ Our Lord" (Romans 6:23)

"But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

"That if You will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God has raised him for the dead, You will be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10: 9-10)

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10: 13)

Bowling for God

[HM is just about to bowl] HM:Finally, my turn.

[He pretends to bowl] HM: Yes. A Strike!

AV: Great job!

[AV is up to bowl. He grabs the ball] AV: Please God. Help me get a strike.

[He rolls the ball] AV: Yes! Thank you, God.

CO: Nice job. Who are you talking about?

AL: God. The king of kings

HM: A King of a Kings?

AL: King of Kings. Lord of Lords

HM: Okay. I'm confused.

CO: Can we talk about this over nachos and sodas?

[We all go to the concession stand, order food and go to a table to eat.

HM: Can we talk about God now?

AV: Before we start, let's look at a couple of memory verses in the Bible. It will explain better.

HM: Memory Verses!

CO: I don't want to read! I hate reading!

AV: It's OK. I'll read for you

CO: Okay then.

[AV pulls a Bible out of his pocket]

AL: First we will look at Genesis 1: 1

[AV turns to the page] AV: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

HM: God created all of that? Wow!

CO: Cool

AV: Now I will read from the book of Romans

"All have Sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ Our Lord" (Romans 6:23)
