"If I told you half the things I've heard about this Jabba the Hutt, you'd probably short-circuit."   C-3PO to R2-D2

They call me Toby Philpott in 'real life' and I spent 33 years as a self-employed performer and teacher.

Although I played many parts, I seem to remain most famous for performing as half of Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi (before he turned into a cgi hologram, and when he was still really slimy and blubbery).

Well, I say 'half' but

it proved a bit more complicated than that!

Dave Barclay was given the job of Chief Puppeteer

and got me hired as co-pilot.

At the age of 51 I took my first 'proper job' working in Cardiff Libraries, and over the last 15 years have supported staff computing and training, and also helped roll out internet access to the public.

(The old website has been around for nine of those years, and grew while I learned stuff, but it looks really old-fashioned now, and I don't have the time or patience to revise the whole thing, so I thought I would put this experimental page up as a 'clean' resource, linking back to the best bits of it, until I have time to rebuild the whole thing from scratch.)
