Fake Wars
A "Fake War" is basically when screenshot fakers decide to act out a conflict by creating a series of fakes in reply to each other, often further editing each others' fakes. The concept was started by Easl at Sal's Realm, who has hosted all fake wars so far.
To the best of my knowledge, Sal's Realm has seen 3 wars: Easl v.s. Tyra, Easl v.s. Charles n' Pants, and TBFL v.s. Omega. I have only participated in the last one.
This was a fake war between the two rival faking factions, The British Fakers Legion, and The Omega Faking Group. I participated in the war, and also made team graphics and did BBCode for the topic. In the war itself, I decided to be neutral/rogue, because I've been a member of both groups. The objective of the war was to obtain the elusive "Faking Hat". Fakes for the war had to be in Standard Detail, and had to only use the main screen (although some fakes used chatboxes instead). Here are my fakes in the war:
First - Gonza Man hid the faking hat in a chest, and I found it:
Second - Gonza Man attempted to hide the Faking Hat in a hole at Falador Park, but I prevented him:
Third - Mr E rickrolled Easl into returning the hat to him, then entrusted Sergeant Abram to keep it safe. The Sergeant remarked, "Til' hell freezes over, milord!"
Fourth: Tyra dared to save the screenshot as a JPEG, thinking it could end the war. Well, she was wrong, as I cast the Level 100 spell, JPEG Removal:
I was planning a whole set of fakes alongside my real life friend, Viral Aether, in which he destroys the Faking Hat permanently, and I borrow Lucca's Gate Key (from Chrono Trigger) and travel back in time to before the hat was destroyed (or, more specifically, to before Mr E poisoned and killed me), but end up losing the key and getting stranded. Unfortunately, Easl ended the war before Viral Aether was able to permanently destroy the faking hat (he only got part of the way there), so none of these fakes were made :(
Rumor has it that there is another war on the horizon... Then again, that rumor's been here for a few months years already.
But it's possible that Sal's Realm and RuneHQ may get into a war some time...
Nope, all the screenshot faking communities died down, so it's safe to assume there won't be anything like this again. It was fun while it lasted though.
