Environmental engineering labs
The Ikuma lab is located at 124 Town Engineering Building, which is at the northwest corner of the Iowa State University central campus in Ames, IA. We have access to a variety of shared resources for physicochemical and biological analyses in the Environmental Engineering labs in Town Engineering Building. Our lab is fully equipped with equipment for microbiological experiments and molecular biology including, but not limited to:
Biofilm reactors
Fermentors
Biological safety cabinet (class II type A2)
Ultra-low freezer
Quantitative PCR machine
Qubit 3.0 fluorometer
Monochromator-based microplate reader with nanodrop-like capabilities
Epifluorescence microscope with Z-motor
Shakers and incubators

ISU Office of Biotechnology
In addition to the Environmental Engineering labs, our research group regularly utilizes the ISU Office of Biotechnology and related facilities. Through these facilities, we have access to various state-of-the-art chemical, microscopy, flow cytometry, and DNA instrumentation as well as computational capabilities for omics data analysis.
