Gift Box Packaging for a Romantic Christmas Gift

Sending a romantic Christmas present should be a memorable occasion or its giving will be pointless. To get the right message across, extra care on how the present is gift wrapped and tagged is required. But how does the sender get it right?

Christmas Romantic Gift Packaging

A seasonal token of love such as a piece of jewellery, a single red rose or poetry book will not look good if wrapped in cheap Christmas paper. Similarly, no one wants to see an odd-shaped romantic present for Christmas, which could cause the wrapping paper to tear at stress points. Placing the gift into a sturdy cuboid box will make the wrapping easier, neater and create a classier finish. Custom gift boxes can be found cheaply at gift shops. Ensure the gift fits snugly inside. Line with cotton, silk or similar soft fabric to show that care had been taken with the gift.

The Best Christmas Gift Wrap

A few personal touches will make the recipient feel special. Christmas wrapping with romantic themes are widely available from cupids, hearts and teddy bears to winter flora. A sparse repeat pattern will look classier than a fussy design. But the sender may consider trying something completely different. For a vintage look, try toasting good quality watercolour paper under the grill or in the oven for a few minutes (take care that it doesn’t burn) before carefully wrapping the gift. Avoid unwanted creases by folding the paper over the gift box against a flat surface. Use double sided tape rather than cellotape when sticking the ends.

Unique Presentation Boxes for a Christmas Gift

Tie good quality Christmas ribbon over the gift. Christmas themed ribbons with repeat patterns are widely

available and will compliment the simplicity of the wrapping paper.Novel gift tags can create a really different type of presentation. Try using an evergreen leaf such as laurel or ivy (holly, being prickly could send the wrong message). Flatten the leaf between pages under a heavy book for a few weeks until it has become paper-like. Punch a hole in one end. Carefully scribe the message onto the leaf using ink or felt tip to avoid the leaf from cracking, and then attach to the gift with string.

Alternatively, create a relief effect by cutting out a simple motif shape, such as a heart a cupid’s arrow or mistletoe onto a small square of card. Stick onto another piece of card. Add three or four layers to accentuate the effect. Experiment with pastel shades to add some contrast. A simple design on the tag can be striking, such as the eternity symbol, a mistletoe or a red rose head. Gilt the edges with metallic effect pens for an effective border. Personal effort will create a greater impression than packaging from the high street.

Romantic Christmas Present Idea

Presentation is vital when giving a special Christmas present to a loved one and will convey the right message. Less can often say more when it comes to sentiment. Try not to clutter the gift’s presentation with garish colours and fussy designs. A simple vintage look can easily be achieved by wrapping the gift in toasted paper and tying it in seasonal ribbon. Using a gift box is essential. A personalised gift tag made from an evergreen leaf or one with a striking motif is easy to illustrate by hand and will make the gift’s opening a memorable and romantic occasion.
