Yijing Dao - Calling Crane in the Shade

This is a website run by Steve Marshall who is also the author of The Mandate of Heaven, a book about the historical origins of the I Ching. Steve is another person to whom I am extremely grateful when I was creating the I Ching Reading's Journal. All the Chinese text used in my software were taken (with permission) from the unicode transcription of the I Ching (Zhouyi) on his site*. This has made it possible for me to create a system for searching readings which have hexagrams and lines containing specific keywords from the I Ching. I also used his transcription to create the translation key which is intended to give you a basic idea of how the words used in a translation such as Legge's relate to the original Chinese text.

In addition to the transcription his site has some excellent resources. There is for, example, a beginners guide to I Ching divination with information practical information about how to consult the I Ching and interpret changing lines, as well as writing some really helpful background information about I Ching practice, and what he refers to as the 'Way of I Ching'. I would certainly recommend this to anybody. Other resources on his site include reviews, an animation of the King Wen Hexagram Sequence, a glossary of I Ching terms and more. Well worth taking a look at.
