Great Depression Scrapbook Assignment & Links

Scrapbook Assignment – Part 2

After viewing the segments on the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl you now need to locate primary source photos to pair with your journal entries. You will find links on the class website to locate photos.

Instructions:

• You need to create a minimum of two scrapbook pages. More are fine depending on the size and length of your photos and writing. The scrapbook is not graded on design but neatness. If you want to add “personal touches” and get creative with designing a theme – feel free! Have fun! No cover is required.

• You need a minimum of 3 written sections or journal entries. These are:

· 5 sentences or more long

· Include specific history facts or descriptions of real events / conditions.

· Neat enough to read, but handwritten is just fine.

• You need a minimum of 5 photos that match the content of your journal entries. The photos must:

· Be real photos from the Depression era. Find links to them on the class website.

· Have a label or a caption. This can be made up to reflect the content of your journal. But it might include some of the real information from the photo.

• You may cut your journal entries directly out of your notebook and use those sections IF it neat enough to read.
