CREW

There are five ways to participate in crew at Hempstead

TECHNICAL

Technical crew handles lighting, sound and rigging. Students who are on technical crew must be trained and approved by Hempstead staff. Technical crew is usually directly supervised by adults (currently we have people on light and sound- but we really need people trained on rigging).

STAGE

Stage crew handles scene changes, prop management, and assists performers. Students on stage crew are usually selected from those who regularly attend set days.

HAIR/MAKE-UP/COSTUMING: DUE TO THE PANDEMIC CAST MEMBERS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN HAIR AND MAKE-UP FOR 2020-2021

Hair/Make-up/Costuming crew helps with the shows as well as the maintenance of the costume room and the green room.

FRONT OF HOUSE

Front of House helps manage ticket sales and ushering. They also handle publicity. It is best if ushers are available each night of the production.

SET CONSTRUCTION

Set days happen every Saturday from 9:00-4:00. We welcome all volunteers. Students should arrive willing to work, and dress in clothes that can get dirty/ripped/painted. Students should wear closed toe shoes. NO FLIP FLOPS and shoes must be on anywhere that there is construction. We need students who are willing to build, paint, organize and will clean up as they work.
