2023-24 Boys Swim and Dive Registration & Schedule

Online Registration for the Fall season starts Monday November 1, 2023 at midnight and continues until Wednesday  November 30, 2023   whathletics.org

1.       Registration starts November 1, 2023

2.       Registration ends on November 30, 2023.  After that, you must register in person in the athletic office at Hall.

3.       In order to register, you must have a valid physical on file at school. Physicals are good for 13 months.

Our season lasts into March so in order to not have to get a physical during our season, your physical should be dated after March 1, 2022. If you are getting a physical, you need to bring the blue physical form available in athletics to the doctor with you. There will no longer be physicals given by the school doctor before the winter season.

4.       The first day of practice is Thursday November 30, 2023 3-5 PM.

5.       In order to be able to join the team, you should be able to swim at least 200 yards freestyle without stopping.

Preferably, you should be able to do a freestyle flip turn. You should know how to dive. Knowing

How to swim the other competitive strokes, butterfly, backstroke and breaststroke would also be helpful.

While a great deal of teaching goes on at practice, this is a competitive swim team, so you need to already be able to swim and dive correctly and safely in all depths of water.

6.       In addition to the schedule I gave out at our meeting in November, our schedule is already posted on the team website (see above) and is posted at the CIAC website. Enter    casciac.org   in the browser window and then follow the links by clicking on right of screen and then the sports drop down menu.

Snorkels: If you need a snorkel, get the FINIS swimmer’s snorkel with the purge valve. The purge valve aids you in removing water from the snorkel.    Finisinc.com/technical/snorkels

                  Swimoutlet.com and amazon.com often have the swimmers snorkel on sale for less than it is on the FINIS website.

                    Swimmers should have this with them on day 1 of practice and each day after that.

Each day of practice you should have a swim suit, towel, goggles, snorkel and cap if your hair is long.

There is a bus to the pool every week day when school is in session except Wednesday. Be ready to go by 2:20 PM in the parking lot by the tennis courts. On Wednesday you must get yourself to practice. Form car pools if you need to. Practice times Monday thru Friday are 3:00-5:00 or 5:30 and on Saturday 7-9 AM. We do practice at the regular times on days off from school including vacations. We do not practice on days there are weather related days off from school or weather related early dismissals from school.
