Senior_in-Pensioners_in 1846

For the amateur historian trying to research a Greenwich in-Pensioner recipient of the 1847 Naval General Service Medal, it is useful that the entrants from 1824 onwards have been transcribed, and can be viewed on Kevin Asplin's website.

When a new Register of Pensioners was prepared in late 1845, it recorded all existing pensioners who had entered up to, and including, 1845. Thereafter it records new entrants. The catalgue reference for this document is ADM 73/47.

Below is a table of those entrants who had entered prior to 1824, and who were alive at the end of 1845. In many instances, the entry year is a best estimate. Some of these men, such as Joseph Bergwin and Richard Libertine, were to receive medals.
