October 10, 2011: Tea ceremony party

F&S no kai hosted the tea ceremony party on Oct 10(Mon), 2011.

It was held at Genshin-an, Gyosen-koen park.

Genshin-an is a Japanese style house and surrounded with beautiful Japanese landscape garden, called Heisei Teien.

About 50 people including indians living in Kasai area joined the party.

In this event, they were offered a hands-on experience not only of drinking tea, but also of making green powdered tea: matcha. Although the manners of the tea ceremony seems not easy, looks like they could feel the atmosphere of the ceremony and the tastes of matcha & Japanese sweets.

After the tea ceremony, some cultural programs were also offered.

We believe the participants enjoyed the experience of Japanese traditional culture.

Some of our F&S's students also performed Indian dance and Japanese folk songs. The event was very good opportunity for cultural exchange.
