Pearl Water for the face.

Put half a pound of the best Spanish oil soap (ED: Castile soap) which has been cut or scraped very fine, into a gallon of boiling water. Stir the whole well for some time, then let it stand till cold. Now add a quart of rectified spirits of wine, and half an ounce of oil of rosemary; stirring the whole well together.
