Lithuania (Lietuva in Lithuanian) is situated on the south-eastern shore of the Baltic Sea, and has a total area of about 65,200 square kilometres.  It is bordered to the west by the Baltic Sea, to the north by Latvia, to the east and south by Belarus, and to the south-west by Poland and the Kaliningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation.  For further details, see the Wikipedia article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithuania.

All the upland areas in the country are of morainic origin.

The highest hill in Lithuania is Aukštojas kalnas, in the Medininkai Upland near the southern border with Belarus. This has a height of 293.84 metres, and a prominence of c.70 metres.  The most prominent hill in the country is situated in the Samogitian Upland - Medvėgalis kalnas, with a height of 234.6 metres and prominence of c.190 metres.      

There are three hills in the country that have at least 100 metres of prominence.
