What happens at Meditation

The meditation event is a 90-minute event (open to everyone) made up of three parts. The group will normally sit in a circle with eyes closed for the first two parts. The teacher talks the group through a calming guided visualisation (with or without music) to stabilise the minds of the participants (20-25 minutes).  The aim is to work toward a state of peacefulness, balance, harmony and above all freedom from the continuous stream of thought processes that occupy our minds in most of our waking moments.  The second part is a period of silent reflection (10 minutes) where participants are encouraged to become more self-aware, experience inner peace and a connection to the spirit world.

The third part of the session is a discussion and sharing by members of the group of any experiences they have had during their meditation (30 minutes).  This sharing is optional and it is perfectly acceptable to keep your experiences of session private and not to share them.  In addition, participants may leave after the first two silent parts of the meditation should they so wish.

Meditation can put us in touch with the Universal energy, which is the life force that runs through all things. It is the key to unlocking our full potential. A short amount of time in meditation every day can truly unclutter our minds and allow our bodies to naturally rebuild themselves.
Those who practice silent meditation believe it helps to bring them a more profound sense of awareness, inner peace, and a sense of the importance of living each moment as it occurs.

Dates and times of these events can be found in the Events Diary.
