Presently engaged as Associate Lecturer - Management at Central Queensland University, Townsville Campus
Research interests include Tourism and Community Well-being, Sustainable Tourism Development, Indexes and Indicators of Social Progress, Student Success, Social Innovation and Social Marketing
Completed PhD at James Cook University in 2017. The PhD research investigated tourism impacts on social aspects of community well-being in Australian Tropical communities, and the full thesis can be downloaded here
During the PhD candidature (2011-2017) held various casual teaching and research positions within the College of Business, Law and Governance, JCU
Additionally, I took eight moths off (May-Dec 2012) to work as a Senior Research Officer (HEWL8) on a large international research project 'State of the Tropics', which focused on identifying current issues and opportunities in tropical communities
In the final stage of my PhD, which I completed part time, I was also engaged as a Student Support Officer for the Division of Tropical Health and Medicine, JCU and my main task was to provide support for first year undergraduate students in the Division
