About the El Dorado Municipal Band

The band began in 1923 through a charter ordinance from the City of El Dorado, Kansas as a boys band. Over time the band made its home in Forest Park's historic band shell at the intersection of 9th and North Taylor Streets.

The band is governed by an elected board of officers. John Templin, Brett Martinez and Kelly Middleton will conduct the band.

Come join the tradition this summer for this Free family friendly activity, either as a performer, or as a member of the audience. The Concerts start at 7:30 p.m. at the Band Shell, located in El Dorado's Forest Park - located in front of the El Dorado Municipal Pool (9th and Taylor), unless otherwise specified.

Over the years, the band has performed at Gordy Park (the band's original home), the downtown sidewalk sale, McDonald Baseball Stadium, El Dorado Lake, Towanda's Friends of the Library (Ice Cream Social), Relay for Life (El Dorado), Butler County Fair, and other communities in Butler County.
