PC1

PC1 was the second up-converter to allow tuning of 30kHz -> 30MHz using a 144mHz receiver or transceiver. It used a wideband diode parametric mixer.

I bought one in 1984 after persuading Datong to send me servicing information, and used it briefly both as a transmit and receive mixer in a transverter application.

This was another unit that was styled in the aluminium wrap-around case.

It seems as if this unit had a minor design change due to component shortages. The original unit used the MC145104 synthesizer IC but I've been made aware of a version that has a MC145106 fitted on a daughter board. I've added a copy of the datasheet for these ICs to the manuals area so we can figure this one out.
